AN ODE TO MYSELF

My alarm goes off, I greet the dawn.
With a lazy sigh and a big wide yawn.
I step to the floor and slowly rise,
Stretching and yawning and rubbing
my eyes.
I walk to my closet and begin to frown.
What do you wear when your short
and round?
I look in the mirror and see layers of fat,
And wave good-bye to the guy in the
frat.
I walk to my bed and crawl back in;
'Cause in my dreams I'm gorgeous
and thin.
My skirts and my blouses fit just right,
and none of my pants stretch too
tight!
Sleek and slender in a long black gown,
I wear all smiles and never a frown.
Oh! that sleep brings such happy bliss!
I'm in his arms enjoying his kiss.
And then I wake up and the dream is gone.
I t's another day and another dawn.
Time to drop this 'ball and chain,'
And make my loss my gorgeous gain!
